PokerStars A-Hoy
Bodog $5+.50 SNG. 3rd place. +$4.50
The guy in front of me knocked out #4 with AA, so I am in the money and he is SB, I am BB with A2. He limps, flop comes Axx, he bets, I raise all-in thinking what are the odds he has got the goods two hands in a row, and he turns over AK. A dumb raise, which I do sometimes when I make the money. Why raise all-in with A2? The only way he calls is if he has me beat... Could've saved my chips and battled for 1st or 2nd.
Bodog $6+.50 SNG Turbo. 9th place. -$6.50
I lost all but 10 chips early when I caught JJ and raised 300. One caller and an A hit on the flop. I should have bet small at that point and still had 600 left, but I spazzed and went all in in front of him trying to scare the guy off. Like I'm going to scare anyone off in a $6 SNG, even if they had A2 and I was trying to represent AK. Sure enough he had AJ. If I wanted to lose all my money with JJ, I should've gone all-in pre-flop when I was 70/30 instead of making a stupid bluff on a dangerous flop. I came back from 10 chips to 220 (6x and a 3x) and lost when I went All-In with J10 when the flop came 679. I figured 10 outs with a chance to triple up and get back in it was worth it since the blinds were about to go 50/100. At least I wasn't 10th.
Decided there is no reason to keep $200 on Bodog. Going to withdraw $100 and move it to Pokerstars.
Mondays at the Hoy (MATH)
My first ever real-money game on PokerStars was a $10+1 with 37 other experienced bloggers who generally play much higher stakes. I was respectable at 19/38. Blew whatever chance I had when I called an All-In pre-flop with AJ suited against AK. Busted out a while later with AK hearts, the board came 910K and of course the other guy flopped the nut straight. Oh well, it was fun. Went from there to take 2nd in an 18 player $6+50 Turbo so I made it back and then some. Lost 2 more after that so I finished the day dead even. Whoopee!
Bodog -$2.00
PokerStars - +$2.00
